Just a little Monday afternoon pick-me-up
brought to you by my kids!
brought to you by my kids!
So another common word besides "cheese" that Parker says is....you guessed it! No! But it's really cute the way she says it...kinda puffs out her lips into an o shape. I'm sure it won't be cute much longer, but it is right now.
and look who's more mobile than when we left....
A couple of Fridays ago Lane and I attended Imagination Movers with friends. It's his ABSOLUTE FAVORITE thing on TV for the past couple of months. I was lucky enough to get tickets through Mac Kid and he was so excited to see them. He still talks about it.
I had to check back at last year's Mother's Day. Lane so little, me, not so little. :-) But I loved that little belly. And who would have thought this little sweet and spunky girl was inside:
Besides for Lane waking up every morning and asking to go to Tennessee, we haven't been up to a whole lot. The alternator went out in our car so I've been running (literally running) everywhere. Like to get Lane to school, meet for playdates, etc. My double stroller, which I wasn't sure if I could use as a double jogger, has been worth it's weight in gold for the past 2 days! And it does act as a double jogger and I love it! I've actually kind of enjoyed my time car-less....sort of. My friend yesterday joked with me and claimed that I just live downtown and sleep under the bridge. Haha! I had that stroller packed with my laptop, a picnic lunch and all the necessities. Did I mention I LOVE that thing!
We had 2 days of being car-less and today I am sore and ready to have the luxury of a motor vehicle on 4 wheels.
Today's post is flashing back to 2 weeks ago when a certain baby girl found her groove! And she can groove, let me tell you. She sometimes doesn't even need music...just the command to dance!
he isn't really listening...you stop at random parts in the book and he starts filling in the words. This actually happened on a total fluke and made me LOL so I had to get it on video.
"I was like serious, mom" I mean, I was like, what?!"
Yes he said this after picking him up from the playroom at the gym. It was even complete with hand and head movements. Hilarious!
I had him say it again so I could record it. Not the full effect, bu you get the idea!
This video was taken a few weeks ago and totally showcases Parker's personality! She nose-dives into the couch, her brother laughs at her and then she smiles and waits there until someone picks her up!
I'm still in my PJ's. I spent the rest of the day cleaning and PACKING. Ay-yi-yi we're going to need a U-HAUL. It seems quite impossible to pack for a family of 4 for an 11 day trip...but I'm getting there...we may just have to strap Harley to the roof...kidding!
Apparently, Baby Jesus is coming all the way to town. I'm thinking he combined all of his songs he learned into one. But just a hunch...I can't wait to find out at his Happy Birthday Jesus Party next Wednesday at school. Don't worry I'll be sure to record as not to leave you hanging. :-)
(sorry for my laughter, I just could really not hold back)
This was last week after Matt got home from being gone all week. They were having a heart-to-heart in none other than....the BATHROOM! He was definitely missing his Daddy!
He is just too cute for words. He is becoming quite the little man and I feel like I haven't been able to keep up documenting what he's like at 2 years, 4 months, but at least I've been able to document with video.
This happened this morning. I walked out of the room for a second and came back to find him reading to his sis.
Last Wednesday I did an interview with Fox Carolina reporter Lauren Elise and they aired it last night in the Upstate! It can be found on their website here.
I fell asleep before it came on so I didn't watch it last night, but we DVR'd it and I watched it this morning....and this was Lane's reaction when I showed him. :-)
Lane loves when I put Parker in his bed. I often bring her up to get him in the morning and he gets excited to see his sister! He always says "put her down right here, momma!"
This weekend we took full advantage of the relaxation of the morning hours. Lane sleeps until a pretty decent hour so Matt and I took advantage of having Parker all to ourselves. Our biggest challenge with her is keeping her happy while we wait 30 minutes for her Prevacid to digest. As you can imagine, she is pretty hungry in the mornings when she wakes up so making her wait an extra 30 minutes is not always easy. This weekend though, she handled it pretty well.
Maybe it was the music choices that Matt picked. He's brainwashing her at a young age. (It's the Illini Alma Mater song and War Chant.)

I started going through my FLIP and saving videos from way back when. I found this funny one of Lane that I am glad I did not delete. It's just his size and he knows exactly how to use it. :-)
