Our week in iPhone pics and videos

A couple of Fridays ago Lane and I attended Imagination Movers with friends. It's his ABSOLUTE FAVORITE thing on TV for the past couple of months. I was lucky enough to get tickets through Mac Kid and he was so excited to see them. He still talks about it.

It was a concert for toddlers. The Movers came down into the crowd and all the kids started running into the aisles...it was like a baby mosh pit. LOL! I must say though this was the best "concert" I've been to since attending all of these pint-sized shows! Very entertaining.

I sent these movies to Matt during the concert. We know the songs and I didn't want him to feel left out, although he happily gave up his ticket to my friend and her son. :-)

The day after that was move-in day. We moved most of our small stuff and all of our boxes. The movers came on Wednesday and moved our furniture. We've had some very long and exhausting days. It's now Monday and we're just finally starting to really get settled. We don't have cable or Internet, although somehow, we have Internet right now, hence the blogging! We're not having TV while we are here. Summer TV is horrible and I plan on being active and reading and swimming and doing crafts and NOT turning on the TV every night like we normally do!

Here's a tour of the apt. by Lane.

We've made lots of trips to Lowes.

Took some time out to swim in the pool! The heat has been brutal, but nothing unusual than your typical SC summer and making trips back and forth back and forth back and forth to our old house. The kids have been amazing through it all. Poor babies! But the end is definitely in sight and now we are going to spend our Memorial Day relaxing at the pool!

A couple packed boxes

a trip to drop off another load at our new (temporary) place

a couple batches of baby food
a refreshing dip in the pool

where this little boy

swam from end to end countless times which I'm sure made him so sleepy he's been sleeping for 3 hours (and counting)

where this little girl floated in her raft and kicked and splashed and squealed 'til her hearts content

a trip for some groceries and a whole lot of laundry

are what this Monday is made of!

Parker Lou Lou 8 months old!

Dear Parker,
8 months old today. This past month you added dancing, waving, scooting on your butt in a circle, pointing to my nose and screeching (lovely) to your list of talents. I am thoroughly enjoying the sit-there- and-play-on-the-floor stage so please don't become mobile too fast. :-)

You are probably somewhere around 14 pounds...maybe 15. You eat solids 3 times a day (like a pig!) and nurse 3 times a day. In between, you get one or two bottles of formula or breast milk. You sleep from 7ish to 7ish and nap twice a day. Although sometimes you have to catch your morning nap in the Ergo, car seat or stroller, depending on our schedule for the day! Sorry baby girl, but you don't seem to mind!
Photobucket

You absolutely continue to think your brother is the coolest thing on earth and are always stretching your neck to find him. You have just started to really go after whatever he has in his hands if it interests you and you won't stop until you get it! Cracks me up! (him too) You are as sweet as pie, but have some spunk in you and don't seem like the type to be pushed around. Only time will tell.

You are always getting called a little baby doll because you are so tiny and dainty and so laid back. But like I said, when you want something, you want it and will let us know! You love books, playing chewing on toys, especially if they are Lanes and going for walks.
PhotobucketYou have 6 teeth, more and more blond hair (that's hard to see in pictures), the biggest most beautiful blue eyes and the sweetest smile. You still have "the cheeks" that I sometimes think are magnetically drawn to my lips, but they are getting smaller.

You love to have screeching matches with your brother, especially in the car and as long as you can see him in the car, you are fine. You sometimes cry when I put you in first and you can't see him, but feel better once he's secured next to you! I always wonder what the 2 of you are giggling about in the back seat.

This month you also attended your first "concert"-Barney's Birthday Bash and I think you liked it more than your brother. You danced away in Daddy's lap the whole time.

Baby girl, we love you! You have added something extra special to our family in a way you will never know! Keep on smiling!

Love,

Grandma and Grandpa!

Loretta comes in May, usually around Artisphere, a fun festival we attend every year. You can see previous ones here and here.

This year she brought Ed along to enjoy too.

Lane is now old enough to attend KidSphere. Super cute!

And tiring!

We also went downtown for Friday night Jazz, Matt and I went out for our anniversary and we all attended a Drive game on Sunday afternoon, perfect weather! Love it!

My laundry is caught up or should I say was caught up until Loretta left, my kid's faces were clean, their shirts tucked in and I even got clean sheets and a made bed. Can't say I remember the last time that happened when they weren't a wrinkled mess!

Besides for the fact that I get an extra set of hands here to help around the house, we enjoy the company and are waiting for them to come back!!!

I have 742 emails in my Inbox-unread, Parker turns 8 months, Lane finished school, we have 3 addresses, Grandma and Grandpa come to visit and other very crazy, very fun, very busy things happening with the McConvilles!

Hi! It's been a while! But for good reason!

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit last week. Of course it was fun, of course it was short, of course we hated to say goodbye.

We closed on our house on Friday the 13th. We officially have the keys and demo starts in a few weeks. We also picked up our keys to our temporary apartment today. That makes 3 addresses, 3 water bills, 3 power bills, 6 bathrooms, 3400 sq. ft., 8 bedrooms, 3 kitchens, 2 washers, 3 dryers (how did that happen??) 2 cars (we sold one!) 1 pool (which is almost the only thing I care about at this moment) a gazillion boxes and a partridge in a pear tree!

Don't worry, those numbers will soon be cut in half. We are canceling all services at our current home, the only home my children have ever lived in, the place we lived at the longest as a married couple, the beginning of our journey to living in this new state, our stability and comfort for the past 5 years, and passing it along to a new family who can't wait to live here, who we talk to almost daily and who will be renting from us for at least a year, if not more and then possibly purchasing. Yep, time to close the doors on this portion of our life and start anew!

The excitement surrounding it all is almost unbearable! But first, we must move and that I am not so much looking forward to. But our bags are packed and the movers come Wednesday and then we will say goodbye forever (or at least until we can't make the mortgage payments at our new place and have to move back) KIDDING!!!

The kids are almost oblivious to the big changes ahead. Besides for the boxes and junk all over our house. But even that doesn't seem to bother them. I am still going on play dates and keeping an active schedule, as to try not to disrupt normal life for them.

Lane finished his first year of school!

The 2 year old class made tie-dyed shirts last week and all wore them on the last day. How cute!
We attended a picnic with the whole school...Matt couldn't make it because he was busy at work, but Parker and I did and this is one of the reasons I stay at home....to have the flexibility to do this stuff!

Since I've been MIA...We had a picnic with Matt on his lunch break,

went to the Duck Derby

Photobucket

(If you can't tell, there are 1000's of yellow rubber ducks racing down the falls. It's a charity event that coincides with the Kentucky Derby!)
Photobucket Barney's Birthday Bash,

and got a much needed hair cut!

I'm not going to try to cram anymore into this post, but I thought I better make time for an update because I got a comment from a person who shall remain nameless...cough...Nene...cough saying "one week."

Yeah, yeah, point taken.

Enjoy the view

On our way home from The Smoky Mountains, I was set on stopping at one of the various "lookout spots" to get some pictures. It really was so pretty there. So I drove (because I get really car sick in the mountains if I'm not driving) and I drove and everyone around me started falling asleep and the car was quiet except for my music and the wind blowing through the sun roof. It was relaxing, but darnit we were stopping to get some scenery pics!

So the first one we came across, I pulled over and pulled everyone out. They all happily obliged. Sometimes they love to just humor me. I contemplated not waking Parker up, but figured she would fall back asleep once we got on the road again!

Tennessee!

Talking about the "smoke"
