The A/C has been turned off for the first time since March! Yippee!! In anticipation of this momentous occasion called FALL, we've been preparing with some crafts.

Fall Trees
(Lanes' is the bigger one.) Parker was mad when I would hold her hand so her "crafting" didn't last too long. But now every time I show her, her masterpiece she makes her hand print on it. (I think she secretly liked it, even though she was trying to bite my hand so I would let go when I was trying to paint it.)

We paint in our undies 'round here.

Halloween Cookies!

Another baking playdate with our friends Angela, Jade and Cole! Angela has had us over for TWO baking play dates this week. The first was pumpkin bread. Lane had so much fun. We owe them BIG time! I told her maybe for Christmas the kids can come mess up my kitchen!

Cookie Baking Party

Yesterday Lane, Lace, and I went to Grandma Loret's for a visit. She was cooking and baking for her work potluck and asked Lace and I if we wanted to help decorate the Valentine's Day cookies. Ha! Ha! Ha! I laugh because Lace and I are about the furthest from Martha Stewart as you can get and I don't think Loretta realized when we said they will resemble the work of a kindergartner, that we WERE serious! We had a blast! I haven't baked and decorated cookies in a long time and I forgot how much fun it is. We were just glad that we didn't have to come face-to-face with the people that had to eat them and I am sure Loretta was glad that she could say "Oh these were decorated by my daughter-in-law and her sister." Anyway, here are a few photos of the event. Lane was not much of a help because he cat napped in his monkey suit while we decorated, but he was ready for some pictures when he woke up!

Some of our finished product. These were the early batches....in our defense they did get better as the decorating went on!!

Something to celebrate.

It's Matt's 28th Birthday today. Lane and I saw him off to work and began to prepare dessert and dinner....in that order....in our pj's! We started with the cake, angel food with chocolate frosting. Lane wasn't a huge help, but good company nonetheless! Then onto the marinade for some yummy pork chops. MMMMMM!!!!

Little does he know, the good stuff is actually inside the box.

We were able to sing and blow out candles before bedtime (Lane's bedtime, that is) and all in all it was a good day.

I feel really blessed to be a part of Matt's 28th birthday. He is an amazing person, husband, father, son, and friend and I just want to thank his parents, Ed and Loretta, for moldng him into the wonderful human being that he is.
Happy Birthday Honey! Happy Birthday Daddy! We love you!
Here's to ya!
