Naptime Shenanigans

I walk into so many funny things during "naptime" that I thought I would share some of the ones I caught on camera ...

Fell asleep playing with the rattle, woke up an hour later and played with the rattle for a few minutes, fell back asleep for a few hours still holding the rattle!

He actually slept this way!

Gee, are we teething?

I do have the most beautiful fluffy crib bumpers, but once he started rolling in his sleep, I took them out per the recommendation of the "experts" because of SIDS, etc. My mom and Matt think I should put them back so body parts don't slip through the bars or indentations don't form in his head...I just haven't pulled the trigger yet....someday! But then again my mom reminds me that my bumpers as a baby were plastic so what should I be worrying about!! haha!

My 3 sleeping babies

When Matt got home from work today, I was up in Lane's room rocking him. He fell asleep in my arms and Matt and Harley decided to lay on the floor below us and they fell asleep too.

Teething update

So as I mentioned previously my baby boy is teething...again....and it really knocks him out. This week we have been trying to do something, anything to make him comfortable while he cuts his top (what appears to be) 4 teeth. I initially thought it was the top, middle two, but it looks as though the two next to the middle ones are coming as well. I left his teething pellets at home because I didn't expect him to be teething this week, but I have been giving him Baby Tylenol and Ora-Jel, teething rings, cold water bottles to chew on, and for some reason he likes to chew on Grammy's ottoman and Lacey's knee(????). So anyway, getting him comfortable enough to fall asleep has proved to be a bit challenging and today this is what he found comfort in and napped for at least 3 hours this way:

Apparently he likes the monkey suit so much he wanted to nap in it!!! Hey, whatever works to help the little guy!

Bouncin' Babies

Lane and I found a new (free!) program at our library called Bouncin' Babies. It takes place on Tuesday and Thursday and we attended both days this week. The program is geared for 1 month olds-18 month olds. So if you can picture it, there are moms with little little babies and moms with toddlers scootin,' crawlin,' and walkin' all over the place. Tuesday was our first time and what a GREAT program for moms and kids to meet new people and have a little fun. It's a half hour in the morning and we listened to a few short stories, we did fingerplays, and sang songs all while acting it out with the babies. It was so fun...Lane laughed the whole time....especially when he was tossed in the air or bounced in my lap. The rougher, the better for him! It was very fast moving, as you can imagine the attention span of the age group was pretty much zero, but with the change of activities it was perfect.

Lane and I made a few friends and met up with one mom and her baby again today. Lane and Michael (his new friend) are only 13 days apart so it was fun to get them together. Today they had a sock hop theme. It was very cute. It was for children of all ages, so we boogied for a little while and then found a spot in the cafe and sat with Angel and Michael to talk and play. I am so impressed with the amount of programs the library offers for children (and adults) of all ages. And the best part (especially since we are a ONE income family now!) is that it's free....except for the parking which cost $1.50 for 2 hours. Can't beat it! I don't have any pictures of the little man bouncin' cause, well, I was bouncin' with him and had noone to shoot the camera. I will try another time to get some, but I do have some pictures of him "napping." Or at least that's what he was SUPPOSED to be doing. ;-)

(P.S. Thanks to Amy for the suggestion to check out the library for activities for us to do!)

Lane so-called "napping." He must have played in his crib for an hour and I snuck up on him a few times and he just makes me laugh at some of the things he was doing for amusement.

"Oh! Hey Mom!"
"Of course I have a smile for you!"

"Mom, how long have you been watching?
Well, maybe if I smile, it will smooth things over.
