More Christmas in Greenville

We've filled the last 2 weeks with Christmas galore! We celebrated at Lane's Happy Birthday Jesus Party, where he did not sing one line of any of the 3 songs. He would sing them at home, but not during the program.

We made Holiday treats for our neighbors.

This is what my kitchen looked like during that day....a MESS!

The treats started out very disastrous as well, but I finally figured out (after 3 bags of chocolate chips) how to properly melt it.

My kitchen assistant got bored in the kitchen so he turned to digging in rice.

The treats turned out pretty cute and edible to boot! (They were actually quite tasty)

Ready to deliver

We spent one night last week celebrating "Christmas at Heritage Park"

Albeit it was 68 degrees at 7 o clock, but they had Rudolph and fake snow so we got the feel. I can't say the hot chocolate was very appealing though. (Parker was checking out the "snow")

This is a typical Lane thing whenever we do something out of routine. He was scared of the train because he thought it was going to be loud so he asked to ride in the stroller and covered his ears.

The "Big, scary" train Lane was "afraid" of.

He did want to talk with Santa again though so we stood in line to visit with him. Can't say I'm digging the background very much. I think I will buy them a white sheet or something for their back drop next year! I mean really...a BLUE TARP. Hah!

Parker's not too sure of the big guy.

And we also had a cookie decorating play date.

Lane created a masterpiece and we left it out for Santa LAST NIGHT! More to come on our Christmas.

No, you're not seeing things...Lou Lou's hair has a reddish tint these days. Although the red shirt probably accentuates it a little bit more.

Yep, she's definitely taking notice of her brother and when she's bored we just plop her down in front of him and she goes crazy kicking her legs, swatting her arms and smiling away. Look at her looking at him...just waiting for some entertainment...he's a goof ball that's for sure!

We had fabulous plans to head to the Christmas parade this evening...but it's raining and even though it goes on rain or shine, we won't be dragging the kids out in the rain. So we'll see! Happy Saturday everyone!

Christmas Traditions

So...it was down with the Thanksgiving crafts and onto the Christmas ones. Nene brought Lane a gingerbread house kit so they built that on Sunday.

For some reason he still signs 'Please' and also says it at the same time. I'm sure in this picture he was asking nicely to open some of the candy :-)

I think Lane did more taste testing than anything. :-) (Thanks to Uncle Luke for taking most of these pics!)

What can I say...the guy loves a craft...or at least he humors us! :-)

We brought out Elf on the Shelf and he's been really into that book too.

Nene also brought him an advent calendar.

He kept calling it a book all week. "I wanna read book, momma."

Little did he know what he would find inside!

I think his most favorite so far is "Char Brown." We have the 3 holiday Charlie Brown DVD collection and he loves them.

It started with Halloween and then Thanksgiving and we broke out the Christmas one on Monday. Lane loves "Char Brown," but I think he loves this book the BEST. My mom's aunt (my great aunt) sent it to him along with some gifts for Parker and he hasn't put that thing down since he opened it. It's a very cool book that Hallmark is offering this year. Highly recommended by Lane himself-the "Char Brown" connoisseur.
