So vacations always consist of the beach and FOOD, of course!

D babes-another one of my posts that will probably make you hungry! :-)

Each night, one couple was in charge of dinner, so you could either choose to take everyone out or cook for everyone. First up was Lace and Ty who prepared tacos! Can't go wrong with those and some chips and salsa from Chili's.

Matt and I did our famous....low country boil. Definitely the way to go when feeding a large crowd and it's SUPER easy!

And then the rest of the time Papa treated us to some delish cuisine. :-)

We had Italian at Bella Rosa. AMAZING!!! Parker's first fancy restaurant! I have no pics during dinner, but we did family pics before:

And on the last night we went to The Lobster Pot. AMAZING!!! Seafood and lobster oh my! The lobster bisque was out of this world. That was a good place to wrap up our vacay.

Most lunches we packed and took to the beach. One day we ate at The Salty Dog.

Universal Studios

Photobucket

Photobucket
Since we were fairly close to Orlando, we decided to take advantage of a discount that my mom gets for Universal Studios through the company she works for and go to Universal. We got 4 free tickets and the rest of them were discounted so it was a really good deal.

Unfortunately, my mom saw Universal this way.

(Lacey's face=priceless)

On Monday morning, my mom was getting up from the couch and hurt her back somehow. It was THE weirdest and apparently most painful thing. (We're talking about a tough cookie-4 un-medicated child births-one of which was 10lbs.) She's tough! But this had her down.

Luckily, they had wheel chairs so she could get around. :-S

Lane was in complete awe the whole time. It made me want to go to Disney World even more!
Photobucket

One of the first things we did was hit Curious George town. How fitting!

Photobucket  She liked it too!

Lane pretty much went on everything. Except he wanted NOTHING to do with Shrek 3D. He is very sensitive to loud sounds. (Even me putting dishes away makes him cover his ears) So he stayed with Daddy while we all went in...even Parker. My Dad was holding her and said she jumped a few times (it really was super loud), but other than that, she just watched in awe.
Photobucket

Other rides he did go on:
E.T. (aka "CD"-what Lane calls it) -He had to sit by himself and be strapped in and he did great. I must admit, even I was a little scared. That was his first ride and I didn't think he would go on another one, but he did.

Jaws-haha-sat between Uncle Yuke and Papa.

Fievals' Water ride-rode tandem with Papa, which made it pretty fast.  (top left picture is the TV we were watching as each person got ready to ride. I thought for sure Lane was going to turn around!)

Jimmy Neutron-the ride that Lane and Papa decided to wait in line for 20 minutes and then ride on without telling anyone....2 Peas in a POD, I tell ya! We about had the Universal Studios search squad out to help us find them.

Cece and Muggy!

Wanted: MUGGY (with the mug in full affect.)

This was the infamous ride that destroyed Matt's iPhone. It was splat on a platform below. They still went on it twice though.
Photobucket
FYI-Universal will rescue your phone at the close of the park and send it to your house FREE of charge. They're nice like that, even though they plaster signs that say EMPTY YOUR POCKETS AND have lockers to keep the contents of your pockets safe....ah-em.

We did happy hour and apps at an Irish Pub. There was also a big rain storm during this time so we stayed dry too.

Ty won Lane this blue bear...we call him Bluey.

Siesta Key 2011

I'm a little overwhelmed with the amount of pictures I took on vacation, but I'll share a few with you. It was beautiful. Relaxing. and most importantly...fun! My kids LOVED every second of it and were soooo soooo sooo good. They went to fancy restaurants (and behaved), ate late dinners, spent a long (somewhat rainy) day at Universal, napped on the beach, slept like rock stars and pretty much added to the enjoyment of everyone's vacation. Awesome!

First day:

Everyone arrived late afternoon and we swam in the pool. Then we walked to the beach for the 7 PM drum performance (I guess you can call it.) Apparently it happens every Sunday at 7.

There was no keeping this one out of the ocean!

Nene....running?

Then we went home for pizza and another birthday celebration for a sweet 3 year old.
Photobucket
More cakes, more presents, more birthday excitement!

Thankfully, there was a pool in the backyard so we were able to swim when we weren't at the beach.
Photobucket

And it definitely came in handy when Lane woke up at 8:30 AM and said "I want to go to the cool."
Photobucket
Then someone Daddy or Ty would take him out there while the rest of us got ready.

And there was a rooftop for the adults (well, and Lane too) where we would catch sunsets,
Photobucket

unwind with a few beers at the end of the day

and celebrate! Things like Papa's promotion at work!!! Yay, Papa, we are so proud of you!
Photobucket
Complete with cigarillos.

Day 1...complete. Good day!
