A nice relaxing lunch!

Ummm maybe not.

The kids and I eat lunch outside everyday (if it's not raining). I made Lane's, made Park's and made myself a sandwich. I was starving. All I had time to "eat" for breakfast was an Ensure. Yes, Matt makes fun of me for drinking what old people drink, but I don't care! It gives me calories and vitamins and I can grab it and go!

So I sit down. Lane has his Easter basket sitting next to him and he's looking at all of his eggs. (This was a few weeks ago and he had an egg hunt at school) Parker is like an addict in a pharmacy. She sees the basket and all it contains and she is grabbing at EVERYTHING. I place my jumbo size glass of peach tea, just out of her reach and set her avocados down. I pick up my sandwich and before I can take a bite, she practically lunges out of her chair and grabs my tea, dumping it all over my lap and the table and in the process I flip a spoonful of avocado everywhere. AHH!

I just want to eat a sandwich people. Lane, in the meantime, keeps opening his eggs. Jellybeans are flying everywhere. The dog is going after them. Lane is yelling "Oh No!" and again, I just want a sandwich.

But I can't. Because I've got avocado in my hair and peach tea on my pants and Parker is about to eat a Hershey's kiss.

When it's all said and done...I'm still hungry, Parker looks like this:

What, do I have something on my face?

and Lane has taken 2 bites of his ham and cheese sammich in a matter of 40 minutes. Geez! Is it bed time yet...AKA...wine time!

Bubbles!

Like any good Easter Basket, Lane's contained a bubble gun.

Lou Lou was very excited about it!

Grandma's Easter basket that she sent contained a bubble fan! The kid is set in the bubble department although I may need to buy stock in bubbles. He's a very enthusiastic (read:uses tons of bubbles in one sitting) bubbler!

Easter

If the food groups consisted of Peeps, white chocolate covered pretzels and M&M's Lane would be covered! It's pretty much what his diet has consisted of these past few days.

We had a pretty traditional Easter on Sunday morning.
The Easter bunny visited.
Photobucket

Lane found eggs
Photobucket

and ate chocolate covered pretzels withing the first 30 seconds of being awake.
Photobucket

Photobucket

Parker gave Lane the stink eye because she couldn't reach any of the eggs...
Photobucket

and then when no one was looking she snatched one up and was pleased as punch!
Photobucket

mmmmm...yummy plastic eggs

We made whole wheat pancakes and cut Easter shapes out of them.

And Lane all the sudden went teenager on me when I asked him to get a picture. Is he really rolling his eyes?!
Photobucket

When all the festivities were over, I went to packing. I packed our whole kitchen except for a few necessities. It took me the whole day and I had to have Matt help me finish so I could eat dinner and get to bed at a reasonable hour. Matt worked in the garage and carried boxes in and out. In one short month we will be moving out. Our appraisal came back today and we are extremely pleased!! It came in about $20,000 higher than we were expecting! Yippee!!

I hope everyone had a blessed Easter.

To the beach!

is what Lane said from the back seat after I asked Matt if he knew where we were going. (as in directions) and Lane chimed in "To the beach, mom!" Oh! pardon me! And what's this MOM business?

We spent a lovely Saturday at the beach where

Lane played in the sand

Parker dipped her toes in the Atlantic for the first time

And Daddy took in some R&R

If you call building sand castle after sand castle, running up and down the shoreline after a very enthusiastic beach-going 2 year old

and walking his baby girl in the stroller while she slept...relaxing!

I'm pretty sure we felt relaxed. Something about the salty sea air, refreshing sea breeze and the sound of waves crashing on the shore that is so relaxing.

7 months

Dear Parkie,
Yes we sometimes call you Parkie. It's not a name I ever thought I would use, but it just rolls off of the tongue so nicely and Lane calls you that too.
Photobucket

You are 7 months old and such a big girl. (Well not really figuratively.) You actually are still really small, but at our last appointment, Dr. Nelson said our goal was the 5th percentile at your next weight check and guess what baby girl? You made it just past the 5th percentile! Yipee! Momma was so happy. That brings you to almost 14 lbs.
Photobucket

Photobucket

But you are starting to act more and more like a big girl. You sit, roll everywhere and if it's within your reach, grab EVERYTHING. You started sleeping in a pack-n-play in your own room last month and you went from sleeping 9 hours to sleeping 12 hours. You take 2 cat naps in the morning and sleep for 3 hours in the afternoon. You are still the best baby ever! Just so calm and chill. We love love love you so much.

Your cheeks are getting smaller (but lets face it, they're still huge!), and your eyes are still big. You have a blond mohawk and a tiny patch of dark newborn hair still left.
Photobucket

You eat cereal and pears, apples, bananas, avocado, sweet potatoes (your favorite), butternut squash, chicken (that you will eat if I mix with sweet potatoes), beef that I mixed with carrots (you were not a fan) and turkey. You eat twice a day. You nurse 4-5 times. You love Mum-Mums!

PhotobucketYou have 2 bottom teeth and the other day when I laid you down in your stroller, I saw one of your top teeth has poked through! You love to be in the Ergo and when we pull the sun shade you fall asleep. When you wake up in the morning and from your naps, you sing and talk until someone comes to get you. You sit up by yourself. You are starting to look like an inch worm on your belly, raising your butt up in the air and pushing off with you feet. But your preferred method of movement is still rolling. You sit in this seat to eat and have discovered the game of "I drop it, watch it hit the ground and Lane picks it up for me" and repeat!

Photobucket

You are more and more in awe of your brother. I love the way you look at your Daddy and you mostly prefer to be in my arms. You are my sunshine Lou Lou and we love you so very much! Happy 7 months!

Love,
Momma

Egg hunt-Check

Flashlight egg hunt-Check

Due to the fact that we attended FOUR egg hunts this weekend, I would say that we have fulfilled our egg hunt duty for at least the next year.

Friday was a flashlight egg hunt and it was a Macaroni event. Lane took some time to warm up. Anything new to him, he needs time to take it all in before he is comfortable. He pretty much is a spitting image of me. So I definitely give him his time. The egg hunt wasn't until dark, which was 8:30 so before that ,he played games, jumped on bounce houses, danced to music and once acclimated, had a good old time!

Saturday I ran my first 5K of the year. I kept about an 8 minute mile pace, despite the fact that there were torrential downpours all throughout and a tornado warning. I was pretty proud to finish.

After the race and a long hot shower, the sun started to come out so Lane and I picked up our friends to go to another egg hunt.

Parker stayed home with Matt because it was in the 60s and very windy so it was kind of chilly.
Photobucket

All the egg hunts we attended were very well organized. There were tons of eggs, I mean tons:
Photobucket

Each child was able to completely fill their basket with eggs. We have enough candy to last us until Halloween!
Photobucket
And each hunt was divided by age group so there was no chaos when hunting. They had such a good time!

Saturday night was another Macaroni event Flashlight egg hunt. I set up a table for the majority of the night by myself and Matt and the kids met me later. I had so much fun. I made macaroni necklaces with all of the kids and they had a blast. Put me back to my teaching days! It was another late night. We stopped at burger place after the egg hunt to grab a burger.

Sunday was our usual funday. Downtown in the morning:
Photobucket

Lane discovered the Splash Pad had been turned on for the season and it was so inviting:
Photobucket

Although it was a little chilly! He was a little wet, but he dried quickly!
Photobucket

Photobucket

And then some nice man asked if we wanted our picture. Sure! Sorry Parks, you were about an hour into your nap by this point.
Photobucket

Then back home to clean out and pack up the garage. Oh boy! Look out!
Photobucket

For Sale!
Photobucket

Lane found a furry friend! We've been really talking about caterpillars and butterflies lately. He's so into it!
Photobucket

Then Daddy was having a little fun.

Cap the weekend off with appetizers and drinks on the patio at Liberty! 'Tis the season!
