Our "cool" known to most as our pool

The little boy that calls it a cool. 'Momma, can we go to the cool'

She likes the 'cool' too.

of SUMMER!
It's no secret I have an obsession with seasons. I think I talked about fall 2 months before it started and continued to soak it up during each and every Autumn month. And now summer...another fave...my blog seems to burst with whatever the season and now it is bursting with summer!
Family picnics, trips to the pool, babies playing in buckets of water, walks to the park, the warm sunshine, the permanent smell of sunscreen...no matter how many baths, the coats of sunscreen still seem to win out. I love it all and take it in as much as I can!
Another summer staple...Sunday evening dinners with a smorgasbord of grilled food!

Where you just can't help but go back for that second helping...
Beers in frosty mugs with a dash of citrus...

The proud cook watching her customers dive in to each dish with delight.

My baby belly cause I love me some end of summer/beginning of fall babies!

Moving outside after dinner to take in the evening...

Sparklers

Grandmas and their shirtless-pantless-only-diapered-grandbabies...

Daddy's introducing the art of catching fireflies to their little.

The awe, the wonder of the lit bugs in the night sky...

Yes, summer, I love to take you in!
Seriously. The best summer afternoon party I have ever been to! My sister (whom we never ever pictured living on a farm) has a little piece of heaven on the edge of Mendota, just off 39. Saturday she had our family over to celebrate summer. It was awesome! Everyone had a really great time.

Harley was lovin' it too! He ran around prancing and smiling the whole day.

Her set-up is great! The corn or beans (depending on the year) line the yard like a fence so we never had to worry about the kids. They were free to roam. And roam they did. They have so much space. All I know is if I had that yard, I would have a big ole garden planted!

On Sunday, we had another showing so we headed downtown early in the morning. We stopped at Starbucks and then to the "splash pad" which is really a fountain that the kids can play in. It's really cute. This was Lane's first time and he had an absolute blast. We will definitely be hanging out there again. We had plans to go to the pool, but the splash pad took care of our cooling off needs!

We even brought Har because of the showing. It was super hot for him, but we kept him cool with drinks and splashes of water.

Lane kept running up to his Daddy to tell him about the water. So cute!

Matt actually took a bunch of these so I can't really tell which ones I took and which ones he took!

Nice...apparently he thought it was a giant drinking fountain...
