14 months
What?!?! Every month I say it, but it's so true. These months just keep flying by and with each tear of the calendar, my baby, my first born, my little boy is, well, turning into just that, a little boy. When we were home recently I spent more time 'away' from him than usual, even if away meant me in the house and Lane in the backyard or at the park or staying with his Grandma and Grandpa. Because truly, we are never apart. I am the first he sees when he wakes up, we hang out alllllll day and I am the last he sees before bed, all day every day and I.LOVE.THAT. Call me selfish, but I'm his mama and I can be that way! But just being in IL and getting that extra 'away' time from him, made me think to myself how much older he is starting to look.
I am so glad I get to be with him all day everyday, even on the not-so-great-days because thinking about spending time 'away' from him makes me feel like he is growing up too too fast. I want to bottle this time up because before I know it he will be 'away' a lot more frequently and we will never get this time again. I know I say this all the time, but a big thanks to Matt because without his hard work, I would have to be 'away' a lot more. Thank you honey!!
So Lane, at 14 months you are blossoming!
You finally have a word that you use at the right time. When you aren't happy where you are or just had enough, you start saying 'bye-bye' hoping we will take your lead and leave. This started just last week out of nowhere and we haven't heard the end of it.
You can also say papa, pretty, and when asked what a doggie says you say.....'wooooo(with a very faint 'ffffff'
You're a little busy playing, but we get the idea!
You also are practicing more signs: (working on the manners) please and thank you, also night-night, outside, and airplane. You also do banana, which you absolutely love right now and it's a hard one, but you've got it!
You are standing up on your own without the assistance of anything. 2 days ago I turned around and you were standing in the middle of the kitchen just smiling at me.
You're pushing from your knees to your feet, without bracing yourself. Which seems kind of hard, but you have a way you like to do things so I won't argue with you.
You point to your head, eyes, nose, and mouth, but you've been doing that for a while now.
You have 12 teeth.
You're still napping twice a day for 2-3 hours each time.
You like to rip off your bib so I often find myself stripping you down before a meal.
You love giving hugs...to me especially, and I love getting them.
You often pat or rub the back of the person that's holding you.
Music is still a big part of your life, you even bob your head to the beat of the spin cycle.
We're seeing 'tantrum-like' behavior. If something doesn't happen just the way you want it, you put your head on the floor and protest. I think you've learned that banging it, hurts, so you've stopped doing that. You also bite your toys out of frustration.
And we spend nice fall days doing this:
I think that's all for now Little One! Happy 14 months! We love you!
