Enchanted Tracks and Trick or Treat

This was obviously written on 10/31, but I never got pictures put into it so I never published.

Saturday night, I finished up at the event I had for Mac Kid and this time the kids came as participants.

Matt entered them into the costume contest under "Most Original." We had it in the bag, until the unsuspecting "Recycle Bin" who, by the way, was super cute, entered last minute. We did win crowd favorite though! When Matt introduced the kids and their costumes, the whole bleachers went "Awwww!"

On Monday, we took the kids to our new-old (It's new because, we just moved in, but it's sort of old because our townhouse is only around the corner about 3 blocks away, so this really is our old neighborhood too) neighborhood for Trick or Treating.

They were actually pouring our driveway on Halloween.

When we came back from Trick or Treating we put the kid's hand prints in the cement in the dark. It was very funny and something I will never forget. Especially because the guys were still there working and they kept smoothing it out because Parker kept scrunching her fingers.

Lane loved it this year just as much as last year. He did pick which houses he wanted to go to though. He wasn't a fan of the "scary" ones.

Parker was content in her stroller snacking on her black bean quesadilla! If she only knew what was going in her brother's bag. :-)

BOO at the Zoo

The pictures from Boo at the Zoo are less than impressive. Haha! But we did have a good time. I can't help but laugh at the pics. Totally captured the night!

This would be the last picture of the night...notice not one person is looking at the camera.

Love him!

I don't think the monkey really tries to bite The Mat with the Yellow Hat in real life...

She is pretty cute, but she's a stinker!

And let's face it...the real reason we go to Boo at the Zoo is for the pizza and libations at the Dodd's house afterwards! Late night, but good times had by all!

Boo at the Zoo

Fun fun times=Halloween with a 2 year old. He was in COMPLETE awe of everything around him. He didn't know where to look first. There were costumes and decorations and people galore! I absolutely loved watching him take everything in.

I decided to go the semi-homemade route this year in the costume department. Costumes can be SOOO expensive and they only wear them for such a short time. I found Parker's at a consignment sale back in July. It was a cow costume from Old Navy for 4 bucks and it looked BRAND new! So then I decided Lane would be a farmer, a dairy farmer to be specific. :-)

Pretty soon, some overalls, a flannel shirt, a hot glue gun, some straw, rain boots, a hat (that I already had from Gap Outlet) and a milk pail (complete with a white sheet for the milk) later and we had the cutest farmer you've ever seen.

I was a little nervous how it was all going to come together, but we got so many compliments on it, that I think it's safe to say it was a SUCCESS! And he was ok with wearing it all. I wasn't sure about the hat and boots and last week when I tried to put the overalls on him he said, 'no, momma. take off.' But come last night, the little man rallied. He even carried his milk pail around all night.

The Greenville Zoo did a really nice job. It was a members only event. They had everything decorated...even some of the animal exhibits. And they made it so it wasn't scary so it was fun for even the little ones.

Blurry, but one of the rare mommy and baby photos so it was a must post...

The little cow was a hit as well!

By the end of the night he was walking up to all the blow-ups and then turning around to pose for a picture.

Boo Bash!

Bouncin' Babies had a Boo Bash on Thursday. All the kiddos were dressed up and there was a HUGE turnout. I think it was the Tuesday and Thursday classes all combined into one! There were lots of monkeys, dogs, lions, and giraffes amongst the boys and flowers, lady bugs, and butterflies amongst the girls...we didn't meet any other turtles though! LOL!

And a video of the fun. We usually sit in a big circle with room in the middle for the kids to play in, but today there was no room for a circle. There was twice as many kids and adults so we all just kinda piled in! Lane was just taking all the costumes in.

Trick or Treat!

Well, trick or treating was a success in my book. We set out with our friends and their 2 kids just after it got dark. They used to be our neighbors, but they have since moved...not too far though so we still see them. We went to their neighborhood which is my favorite neighborhood in Greenville. Someday maybe we can afford a house there! (wink wink!)
Here's his first house he went trick or treating.

After the kids walked back from getting their candy...it started to rain...It wasn't terrible yet, so they just kept truckin' along.

But then, it really started to come down. So we plopped him in his stroller and zipped him up in the "bubble." Carter, our friend, was calling him bubble boy. At least he was staying dry!

At least it wasn't a cold rain. It was about 70* so that was good, but pretty soon it was just pouring so we headed back to Carter and Lisa's.

But not before we stopped at the famous Haunted House one of their neighbors does every year.

It was pretty cute...they make it age appropriate so the little ones weren't too scared.
This is Noah the frog and Lane the turtle.

Devon and Noah checking out the goods.
Lane was content to play in their tupperware cupboard...he had no idea the goodies that lie in this bag.
