First day of K3 Preschool

Photobucket

Piece a cake. A breeze. Momma felt like crying when she left her baby, but the baby? He's 3 and just like big and stuff so he walked in (a little shyly), but got right to business. And was all like bye mom. (yes, he's started calling me mom more) and that was it. So Park and I left and did our thing and wondered if Lane was thinking about us. :-) And when we walked in the door to pick him up...uh-um...10 minutes early. What?! We were in the "area." He didn't even look up from the book he was listening too. But he did smile when he saw us!

Photobucket

So those lines at the bottom are his "name." At least there are 4 of them! I asked him to write his name. Hope to do this every year so we can see how it changes!

And sometime this week, I'll post his dentist pictures. I know! Going to the dentist for the first time and starting K3 this week. Couple that with Parker drinking whole milk out of a sippy and telling us she's one. Whew! It's been a big one!

House Progress as of 8/29

Not much has been changing on the outside since the brick was put up.
Photobucket

But lots of changes on the inside...plumbing, electrical, HVAC and insulation. Last night was probably the last time we will see the house in this state.

Our week in iPhone pics and videos

Earlier this week, we watched the projected path of Hurricane Irene blast right through Charleston, SC at about 8 am on Saturday morning. Which would also be the time we would be waking up and heading downstairs to have coffee with The Mathey's. (Who am I kidding...it's about the time the kids would be waking us up and we'd be stumbling downstairs to guzzle 3 cups just to recover from our late night with The Mathey's :-)

Unfortunately, Irene is still going to hit the East coast, fortunately the center will not be visiting Charleston as originally planned. It seems that it will now affect North Carolina. This means, we are still headed to Summerville. There isn't a chance of rain for the weekend. That's 0%. Crazy considering a very strong hurricane will be only a couple hundred miles away. We will have to deal with wind as TWC has told me and tonight they are supposed to get hit with storms....hopefully not hurricane-like. After all, it's Jared's 30th and we have to celebrate!!!

Anyway, here's our week in a nutshell  iPhone!
Better than the park!
Do not adjust your screen, that is a clean car! (Thanks Matt!)
Muggy eating some chicken and red bell pepper pesto pizza.
 King of the hill  sand
Thank you TOH for continuing to inspire me :-)
 Uh oh!
another CAT excavator and another PBJ sandwich for lunch
 Muggy vision (love her legs)
 We.are.addicted.

Parker's language has taken off! She started saying her name this week, but she says it twice. Parker Parker! It is so cute! I tried to get it on video, but all I got was this.

She's also a bit edgy because of those molars. Can you sense how annoyed she is with me? Man, it starts young!

Sunday, Matt and I were discussing plans for this weekend in Summerville and I said Jackie and Parker said "Jackie!" I'm not even kidding, Matt can confirm. She also says 'all done' and 'bye bye' on a regular basis. Too cute.

Happy Weekend friends! Make it a good one. ;-)

I want to bottle this boy up and keep him this way forever!

After reading a book about enter and exit over the summer-Lane seems to be the enter and exit nazi:

Lane- uh, momma
Me- (turning into an exit because I missed my turn into a parking lot) yes Lane
Lane-I sink you are going in the exit and you should go in the enter over there.
Me-Ok, thank you.

Lane: I haf to go poop. Or no maybe I just went yesterday.
Me: giving him a look
Lane: runs to the potty and then calls me when he's done.
Me: Did you go!?
Lane: Yep, see it's like a train.

Lane: (during lunch) I used all my manners to say yes ma'am and no thank you!

Lane:(during that same lunch) I'm a mighty machine!

Lane: Momma, look at my measure tape. It's all the way down.
Me: Awesome!
Lane: Momma, don't say awesome, say uh oh!
Me: oh sorry, uh oh!

Lane using the sand from the mortar for the brick as a play ground.

He's already asked Chuck to leave this sand pile right where it is!

So vacations always consist of the beach and FOOD, of course!

D babes-another one of my posts that will probably make you hungry! :-)

Each night, one couple was in charge of dinner, so you could either choose to take everyone out or cook for everyone. First up was Lace and Ty who prepared tacos! Can't go wrong with those and some chips and salsa from Chili's.

Matt and I did our famous....low country boil. Definitely the way to go when feeding a large crowd and it's SUPER easy!

And then the rest of the time Papa treated us to some delish cuisine. :-)

We had Italian at Bella Rosa. AMAZING!!! Parker's first fancy restaurant! I have no pics during dinner, but we did family pics before:
Photobucket

And on the last night we went to The Lobster Pot. AMAZING!!! Seafood and lobster oh my! The lobster bisque was out of this world. That was a good place to wrap up our vacay.

I knew I would be able to make an entire post about food! Yes!

Universal Studios

Photobucket

Photobucket
Since we were fairly close to Orlando, we decided to take advantage of a discount that my mom gets for Universal Studios through the company she works for and go to Universal. We got 4 free tickets and the rest of them were discounted so it was a really good deal.

Unfortunately, my mom saw Universal this way.
Photobucket
(Lacey's face=priceless)

On Monday morning, my mom was getting up from the couch and hurt her back somehow. It was THE weirdest and apparently most painful thing. (We're talking about a tough cookie-4 un-medicated child births-one of which was 10lbs.) She's tough! But this had her down.

Luckily, they had wheel chairs so she could get around. :-S

Lane was in complete awe the whole time. It made me want to go to Disney World even more!
Photobucket

One of the first things we did was hit Curious George town. How fitting!
Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket  She liked it too!
Photobucket

Photobucket

Lane pretty much went on everything. Except he wanted NOTHING to do with Shrek 3D. He is very sensitive to loud sounds. (Even me putting dishes away makes him cover his ears) So he stayed with Daddy while we all went in...even Parker. My Dad was holding her and said she jumped a few times (it really was super loud), but other than that, she just watched in awe.
Photobucket

Other rides he did go on:
E.T. (aka "CD"-what Lane calls it) -He had to sit by himself and be strapped in and he did great. I must admit, even I was a little scared. That was his first ride and I didn't think he would go on another one, but he did.

Jaws-haha-sat between Uncle Yuke and Papa.

Fievals' Water ride-rode tandem with Papa, which made it pretty fast.  (top left picture is the TV we were watching as each person got ready to ride. I thought for sure Lane was going to turn around!)

Jimmy Neutron-the ride that Lane and Papa decided to wait in line for 20 minutes and then ride on without telling anyone....2 Peas in a POD, I tell ya! We about had the Universal Studios search squad out to help us find them.

Cece and Muggy!
Photobucket

Wanted: MUGGY (with the mug in full affect.)
Photobucket

This was the infamous ride that destroyed Matt's iPhone. It was splat on a platform below. They still went on it twice though.
Photobucket
FYI-Universal will rescue your phone at the close of the park and send it to your house FREE of charge. They're nice like that, even though they plaster signs that say EMPTY YOUR POCKETS AND have lockers to keep the contents of your pockets safe....ah-em.

We did happy hour and apps at an Irish Pub. There was also a big rain storm during this time so we stayed dry too.
Photobucket

Ty won Lane this blue bear...we call him Bluey.
Photobucket

Brothers!

By the end of the night we were all tired of pushing Nene (sorry Neen's)....lol, but Lane was gung ho!
