Weekend mornings

This weekend we took full advantage of the relaxation of the morning hours. Lane sleeps until a pretty decent hour so Matt and I took advantage of having Parker all to ourselves. Our biggest challenge with her is keeping her happy while we wait 30 minutes for her Prevacid to digest. As you can imagine, she is pretty hungry in the mornings when she wakes up so making her wait an extra 30 minutes is not always easy. This weekend though, she handled it pretty well.

Maybe it was the music choices that Matt picked. He's brainwashing her at a young age. (It's the Illini Alma Mater song and War Chant.)

I was able to get some good smiles before she almost melted down from the hunger! (I am apparently OUT of practice and forgot how to shoot an IN-focus picture.)

Do you love how she smiles with her right eye! :-) And she's got a dimple on that side as well.

And then it was time to get big brother up. He opted for some french toast sticks for breakfast and helped me make banana nut muffins.

After that, I snuck off to Kohl's for the THIRD time that weekend and then to the grocery store leaving Daddy at home with the babies. It's funny how going to the grocery store alone seems like a nice retreat! But these days, I'll take any alone time I can get!

Sunday Salutations

Sunday mornings are sometimes my favorite part of the week...whether it be attending church and then going to breakfast or heading downtown for coffee and a pink doughnut, it's just always peaceful and relaxing and a way to spend time as a family.

Yesterday was no different. We woke to a sweet baby boy who asked for pancakes for breakfast...Daddy's are the best! So we spent most of the morning at home in our PJ's. Matt put on his Sunday Morning Playlist and we took in the bright sun that shined through the patio door and the appropriately fitting tunes of the Sunday Morning Playlist. (The man knows how to put together a playlist! :-)

While Daddy worked in the kitchen, the babies listened to a playlist of their own.

Their playlist consisted of her...because I just can't get enough of her and him because...well...who doesn't love him!

(Do you like the Sony headphones circa 1990???)

Then it was pancake time...

Cinnamon Apple to be exact and boy were they yummy!
