Happy Halloween!
from
The Man with the Yellow Hat

and his monkey!

Hi!
So since we've talked last we've....
Had the exterior of the house painted...
So another common word besides "cheese" that Parker says is....you guessed it! No! But it's really cute the way she says it...kinda puffs out her lips into an o shape. I'm sure it won't be cute much longer, but it is right now.
We have to be out of our apartment in 2 weeks. That means we have to move into our new house in less than 2 weeks...which also means there is A LOT to be done before that can happen. It's crunch time and everyone is feeling the pressure.
Here are some more updated pics. We now have neighbors knocking at our (always open) door. No, seriously, our doors are always open when we are there so people are popping in left and right to see the result of all the brick laying, floor staining, tile cutting, roof banging, wall painting chaos happening over there. I'm going to have to do a lot of baking once we move in as a peace offering. The neighbors we have met so far have been so nice and the ladies that came in today absolutely loved the house.
Here are a few pics I snapped of what they saw.
The house has passed the "can I run around in circles over and over again" test by Lane.

A very cluttered island.

Silly girl

Master bedroom (looking into the closets and bathroom)

Master bath vanity (wrong lights and faucets...they had to put something in for inspection and we're still waiting on the right ones)

Playroom

Standing in the playroom looking toward the stairs and the kid's bedrooms and bathroom.

Kid's tub and shower. This would be why I haven't seen my husband all week.

Parker's new pink room. Much better!

The pictures from Boo at the Zoo are less than impressive. Haha! But we did have a good time. I can't help but laugh at the pics. Totally captured the night!
This would be the last picture of the night...notice not one person is looking at the camera.

Love him!

I don't think the monkey really tries to bite The Mat with the Yellow Hat in real life...

She is pretty cute, but she's a stinker!

And let's face it...the real reason we go to Boo at the Zoo is for the pizza and libations at the Dodd's house afterwards! Late night, but good times had by all!
It's been a while since we've visited the train table. I think Parker was a tiny new born. It wasn't really on "the agenda" today, but after dragging my babies to resolve a lighting issue at the house this morning, I could hardly say no to Lane when we drove by and he said "Trains! I want to go play with the train table!" So I whipped a quick turn around and we made a pit stop. Besides...we :saying this in a whisper: had to go to the tile store later. I'm whispering that because I say that everyday to my kids and they both immediately start to whine.
If I told ya'll that I have been at a tile store (and sometimes 2 different ones in one day) everyday this week I would not be exaggerating. I swore 2 weeks ago that "THIS was the last time I would be stepping in a tile store," because I had been in a tile store everyday that week, I unfortunately was lying to myself. Ugh! I can't tell you my frustration with tile stores. Moving on....
Trains...my boy?...he likes them!

My girl?...not so much into the train table.

Much more interested in crawling around...

and reading.

Okay, who am I kidding? The girl won't sit through the first page of a book. I think she just picked it up at the right moment as I snapped the picture...I was happy it was Barbie because these days she's like crawling around the house ramming tractors into the wall (with a tutu on mind you) and making blow-up sounds and pointing her fingers at me. Do you think I should be worried?!
Are you getting sick of it? Well, this is the fun part! When you get to see all the stuff you picked come together. I promise I will blog about my kids soon. :-)
Lighting and countertops was the BIG news yesterday when we stopped at the house.

See, I told you lights were a big deal! Lane LOVES turning lights on and off and now that they are working in the new house he is so excited!

Cheese! She loves to say it when the camera's in her face.

Here's a cheeser for you too!

And another!

Just getting some measurements. That light they installed is actually supposed to be outside and I still need to pick a light for that space.

Still chaos over there, but with lights and counter tops it feels like a real home!
