Last Year, This Year

I had to check back at last year's Mother's Day.  Lane so little, me, not so little. :-) But I loved that little belly. And who would have thought this little sweet and spunky girl was inside:

I spent a nice morning sandwiched between my 2 babies in bed, eating waffles and bacon and eggs and drinking bloody mary's (verdicts out on whether or not they had alcohol) thanks to Daddy! When we got in bed Sunday night there were crumbs everywhere, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

I forgot about the Baby Pool and I went back to check it. The less points you have the better. Click here to see them! The winner....my Dad! Not too far behind was my Aunt and my sister.

In case anyone cares...

about my cervix...I am dilated 3 cm.

I went today to a very looong appointment. Baby is still "floating" though, according to the Dr. so it isn't engaged in position. I don't know how much farther down this baby can possibly get...but apparently I will find out. We had an ultrasound for limited fetal movement, but McBaby passed with flying colors within minutes so no worries. Just have a lazy baby on our hands these days.

I really thought that I was going to go into labor last night or today sometime. I text my sister last night and told her about 6 pm that tonight was the night. Sure enough...contractions started at 9:30, came every 20 minutes for an hour in a half and then stopped.

What's going on around here? I have been a cleaning/organizing feen. I can't stop washing my floors and I do that on my hands and knees so it isn't pleasant at this stage of pregnancy. I washed them for the 2nd time in a week last Sunday and Matt majorly yelled at me. Little does he know, I'm about to go wash them again while Lane sleeps. We still have a broken Jeep. It's been a nightmare to say the least! It drives, but not well or reliably (that is a word, I looked it up!). Lane and I have been taking lots of walks and trips to the park. Matt has been doing a lot of chauffeuring to and from school and Dr.'s appointments. It's not easy because he works 25 miles away from our house. :-( Thankfully he has an understanding boss. I'm just hoping it gets fixed and we can hang onto it for a few more years. I really don't want a car payment right now. $300 is best in my savings account and NOT to a bank for a loan. :-)

Here's a video of Lane I sent to my sister last night. His favorite letter is W. So we've been working on the last part of the alphabet. :-)

Also, one of his favorite sayings right now:
Happens to be mine too. :-)

I have been trying to keep on top of the grocery shopping, laundry and my newsletter so in case I do go into labor, things don't fall behind. I have been slacking on writing and also reading my fellow blogs. I am so sorry and I promise I will catch up soon. Most likely when I finally do sit down which is when this baby gets here and all I have to do is feed and change and catch up on sleep. Is it strange I am looking forward to that?! Ok MUST WASH FLOORS! See y'all soon!

Still here

Still pregnant.

According to my calculations, I have 11 more days until my due date. According to my Dr.'s calculations, I have 17. I like my calculations, but that doesn't really count. Frankly, either does my Dr.'s. The only calculations that count right now are this baby's and apparently he or she is not quite ready yet!

So we wait. The anticipation of it all is the worst. Knowing exactly when to tell my parents to hit the road. Who are we going to call to take care of Lane? We have 2-3 different people lined up depending on day and time of the week, but nothing is set in stone. The control freak in me hates that part. But I'm sure it will all work out in the end.

So we wait. And while we wait, we prepare.

Lane's digging baby gear right now.

He really wants to climb in it himself, but to deter him from doing that, I encourage him to let his bear do the testing.

He seems to be just fine with that! Although, occasionally, he'll ask me if he can get in just in case I've maybe changed my mind. Gotta give him credit for being persistent!

But he has deemed the stroller as his new favorite spot to watch TV.

I think he's scowling at me because I am blocking his view.

McBaby Deja Vu

Yesterday  I had my 37 week appointment. They had no morning times so we had to go in the afternoon. I think I was the last appointment scheduled. So Lane and I trekked over and played the waiting game. Afternoon appointments are the worst. We waited for an hour and a half before seeing the Dr. When she finally came in, she did the routine measurement and heartbeat. She listened to the heartbeat for a while and it was obvious the baby was having accelerations and decelerations. At my 37 week appointment with Lane, I had the same thing except they ordered an ultrasound to check for position and that's when they detected some heart rate "issues."

This time, she felt for position and was clear that McBaby is head down. Then she told me that she wanted to monitor me a little bit more to get a more accurate reading of the heart rate. So off for a  non stress test we went. I was a little annoyed because we had been there for so long already, but definitely wanted to make sure things checked out ok with McBaby. I was worried about being hooked up in a recliner with no option to chase Lane, but luckily he rallied and found books! Thank heaven for books! He climbed up in a chair and stuck his nose right in. After looking for a while he came over to me and stood by my chair so I could read to him. He was so good.

After 30 good minutes of monitoring, McBaby also rallied and showed a strong, steady heartbeat. The Dr. also said that accelerations and decelerations are the sign of a healthy baby, but she just wanted to be sure. I must admit, I felt complete happiness sitting in that chair. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. I was watching my 2 year old soak up some knowledge in a corner of the room in a chair while hearing the loud, steady rhythm of the heartbeat of my 37 week baby. It was really nice. When we were finally done, it was after 6 pm. We were hungry and couldn't wait to get out of there.

I never made it to my 38 week appointment with Lane. We'll see how this time around goes. Except I can't imagine myself having this baby before next Thursday when I am scheduled for my 38 week appointment. And now I am off to pack a hospital bag for me and a bag for Lane in case he has to sleep somewhere while I am in labor. :-) Get ready Nene and Papa...you may be getting a phone call to hit the road soon!

I haven't been posting my stats, but here they are:
36 week:
BP: 114/70
Weight: 142 gained total: 29 lbs.
Baby's heart rate: in the 120's-130's they had to double check and poke around because it was lazy. But I had just come from walking and I think I put it to sleep.

37 week:
BP: 124/82
Weight: 144, but seriously she rounded up...more like 143 1/2 :-) gained total: 30 1/2 lbs.
Baby's heart rate: see above!
I had the strep test last week and tested +...boo. That means I have to have an antibiotic when I go into labor. I am not too happy about that. :-( But there's nothing I can do.

Dear Sweet McBaby,

The anticipation is killing us! I have entered into the "see your Dr. every week" stage which means you could arrive any day now. I am still hoping that you stay inside a little bit longer to get nice and chunky for your debut in the outside world, but we cannot wait to meet you! I hope this doesn't scar you in the future, but I am convinced you are a boy. I kinda had "that" feeling all along, but when we saw you in 3D last week, it confirmed my "boy" feeling. You look just like your brother!

You have been oh so good to me these past 36 weeks. Besides for the occasional night where I probably make one too many trips to the bathroom (but who can blame you, your head is in the position it needs to be for delivery which happens to also be on my bladder) or when I have to wake to pop some Tums, carrying you has made me the happiest and healthiest I have ever been! I just hope I haven't disappointed. :-) You have also earned me many many nice comments from strangers. I have women tell me when they get pregnant they hope to look just like me! Thank you, McBaby for letting me "wear" you well!

You have been a very easy going baby for the past 36 weeks. You have allowed me to "push it" at times when I am chasing your brother in 100 degree temps. or walking probably a little more than I should be or just overall being in pretty good physical working order.  I just hope that your easy going-ness on the inside, translates to the outside. :-) But mostly I hope that you arrive in as good of health as you have been since day one. I have enjoyed you so much these past 9 months. Feeling your kicks and squirms and watching my belly ripple with your movement. I always smile (even if it happens to be 3 am) when you decide to give your big brother a jab as he sits on my lap. He doesn't feel or at least doesn't respond to the movement, but I smile knowing all too well you are making your presence known.

We have a place carved especially for you in our family. It's waiting and when you arrive, you will fit in just perfectly. We love you and can't wait to meet you!

Love,
Momma

(I figured I better post this now...I've been having some consistently inconsistent (does that even make sense) contractions (and they hurt, but not too bad) since last night. I still have 3 1/2 weeks until my due date, but small things seem to be happening to get me closer to delivery!)

I love being pregnant

BUT...

I want to hold my toddler on my lap again...I mean really on my lap, pressed up against my flat stomach, and not cocked off to one side where he winds up being wedged between a rock and a hard place my belly and the arm of the chair.

I want to be able to keep up with him again too! Is that possible?

I want red wine...DEEP red wine, a shiraz or pinot noir. I want a big full glass, especially while I am cooking...mmmm...I can taste it now and just in time for chilly fall nights!

I want to bend over comfortably to put on my shoes, paint my toes, put on my pants.

I want to walk and sleep and not be in pain.

I want to sleep on my stomach.

I want my normal clothes back.

I want to spring up from the couch at a moment's notice and not take 5 minutes to move each body part wincing in pain.

I want my normal clothes back and did I mention I want Red wine?

I want to run and workout (I think) or maybe being pregnant is just a good excuse not to!

I love being pregnant, but I'm ready for this big ol' belly to be gone!

You've seen Lane LIVE

now it's McBaby's turn.

For Macaroni Kid, I signed on an advertiser called Vision of Life. They do 3D/4D ultrasounds. As part of our "deal," I was given a monetary amount + a free 3D/4D ultrasound in exchange for 3 months of advertising. Pretty cool! Friday night was the night we got to visit with McBaby. We never had one with Lane, so it was a new experience for us!

McBaby was very active...sticking out the tongue,

chewing on the feet

swatting at the cumbersome umbilical cord that fell in his/her face! Yup, it was quite the sight and from what we saw, not such a calm, mellow baby we have envisioned. :-) In fact, we saw temper tantrums...yes temper tantrums at 35 weeks. We witnessed McBaby throwing his/her head back several times and arching his/her back. Yeah! I know! We're preapring now.

We learned that McBaby already has hair and we could even see several strands.
It also has chubby cheeks and a double chin.
The tech. told us it's a BIG baby!

This picture looks just like a picture that Matt took of Lane just minutes after he was born.
We saw McBaby have the hiccups for a long time that made him/her mad and also saw him/her drinking lots of fluid.

It truly was a neat experience!

Sooo, McBaby's first photo shoot yielded 95 pictures and I wasn't even the one taking them! I think that's good practice for what's about to come :-) I cannot wait to meet this little person so active inside!

34 weeks

Pics taken at 33 weeks.
Photobucket

I failed to update about my last 3 appointments.
BP: good somewhere around 100/60
Weight: 138 1/2 :-)- this puts me at about 25lbs. gained so far. I had a huge growth between my 27 and 30 week appts....7 lbs...eek! But I stayed the same at my 32 week one, and I was up 3 at my 34 week one.
Heartbeat: always around 140

Just had to stick in this one again...Lane touching the "baby!"
Photobucket

I had pink and blue gum and thought we could blow bubbles and get some cute pics, but we couldn't blow bubbles...well like I envisioned! :-( FAIL!
Photobucket

Lane had to be bribed with a sucker...but it was all good!
Photobucket

There are far more outakes than usable ones, but those are the best kind!

We went to lunch after with the 2 assistants (my mom and sister) and the photographer (my brother) and we were right by the good ole' 251 bridge so we stopped for a shot.

Hard to believe that in 6 short weeks, we'll be welcoming another beautiful life into this world! And our family of three will be a family of four...plus one dog...:-)

As we speak...

or maybe as I speak...which is the beauty of my blog...I'm the only one that gets to speak! :-)

Anyway, as I speak, one trillion pics are being uploaded to my computer from our trip. From, Kathy Griffin shows to birthday parties to family pics, ahh yes, I'm smiling as I watch them upload, remembering each and every moment of our very fun, but very short trip.

We arrived in Greenville at about 10:30 Wednesday night. Lane and Harley, again, were super champs in the car...I mean SUPER CHAMPS...how did we get so lucky! I was miserable, me and my 32 3/4 week belly. With a baby butt in my ribs, an A/C that didn't feel very A/C-like and limited space for movement, but I won't complain ;-)

Thursday we hit the ground running. It was busy and exhasuting and involved TWO poops in a certain someone's pants. :-( He has been doing great, but yesterday was definitely a regression. But I keep my head up and continue on. Today hasn't proved to be any slower. There haven't been accidents so that's a plus. But there was an escapee from a crib this morning and a small tantrum (LOL, I laugh cause his "tantrums" are not really tantrums at all...they are weak! But I'm sure the strong and terrible 2 ones are upon us;-) at breakfast about not wanting oatmeal. After a timeout and some hugs, we were off! We attended a class at The Little Gym, ran a bunch of errands, and I am preparing for an event tomorrow at a HUGE consignment sale...time to get my Macaroni on! I don't know when I'll be back...hopefully soon. But until then....
a glimpse...

of what I'm about to blog about for, oh, the next 3 weeks :-)

Yes, Lane was told to touch the baby...

The bubble thing? Not so much! Whatever happened to good ol' fashioned bubble gum????

Wait what's that? Did I say glimpse? I meant summary.
