13.1
I did it! I did it!

Saturday I ran 13.1 miles without stopping. Well, I did stop to tie my shoelace that came loose and to take a few sips of Gatorade at some of the designated drink stations. But they weren't long stops at all! I can actually say I had a lot of fun. I really do love running in races. (I just really didn't like the training part. It was too time consuming)

I was pretty pleased with my time as well. I was shooting to run it in around 2 hours-2 hours 10 minutes. My official race time was 1:57:05 with an average pace of 8:56.
My sweet little family showed up about every 3 miles which gave me so much motivation. Yes, I did run 13.1 miles, but I think Matt had the bigger challenge that day. He planned out the different spots they would catch me at and wrangled the monkeys on a somewhat chilly and very early morning. I think that is a bigger feat than what I did! And he took pictures!
I have to note my most favorite moment of the race. Around mile 4, I see Matt with Lane on his shoulders both smiling and waving at me as they see me coming. They have their backs facing Parker who is escaping from her stroller. They are, of course, oblivious to this and as I approach them I see Parker (who was supposed to be in her stroller) with one foot on the ground and one big grin on her face. She was all like look at me! So I laughed and pointed to her and I ran by and a very surprised Matt turned around to see the escape artist. A few of the runners around me were laughing too, at the "baby escaping from her stroller." I had to turn around and claim her! That definitely gave me a good chuckle for the next 3 miles.

Every time I would see Matt's green shirt from a distance it would make me so happy. And then the sweet little faces smiling and waving at me.

And then finally at the end, there they were right at the last leg of the race cheering and clapping for me! Finish line was crossing home plate at the Greenville Drive baseball stadium.
I loved the race, but I hated the training-running 5 days a week was a pain. If I run again, I definitely would not train as much.

Yes, I know blinding. (Don't think Matt checked his settings) Eh, whatev!
