Persistency Pays!

Consistency is key! Whatever phrase you want to use, I am convinced! Today was the first day since I have been taking Lane to the baby room at the gym, that he hasn't cried. We have been going since mid-November. Now it's not so much an all out scream, it's a pathetic-I-want-my-momma cry. And it usually starts about 20 minutes into my workout when he looks around and realizes that I am not there. The sweet ladies that watch him, bless their hearts, never come to get me because they are on to him. They know it's not an I-am-hungry-cry or a change-my-diaper-cry or there-is-something-wrong-cry. Unless he is red in the face and screaming, they let me workout and put up with his shenanigans. A few weeks ago Delores said, "You know what? He not serious. He don't have any tears. Look, he's dry! No tears coming out his eye. He is a faker! He just want his momma." And I think Delores was right. He is just a momma's boy, but today my sweet boy, was NOT the one crying when I went to pick him up. In fact, he was one of the only ones not crying and it made me feel good! So YAY! for Lane and his accomplishment in the baby room. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. I am just glad that today was a SUCCESS!

So I guess my three words for today:

Consistency is key!

And to reward his wonderful beahvior (Ha! Ha!)I finally put together his Christmas gift from Grammy and Papa (Mattioda).

Lane's new ride! A Jeep like his mom!

Side note-His crying in the baby room made me think of the time Nonie told me a story about my Dad. It's when he was in Kindergarten and she went to meet the teacher, mid-way through the year, ya know, to talk about little Davy. Well, his teacher said, "He's doing better, he finally stopped crying the whole day." So apparently Lane is taking after his Papa who sat in the back of the room in his desk for 1/2 of the school year, crying. Poor Davy! He wanted his momma!

Your Three Words

I saw this on Good Morning America (a while ago) and really liked it. They explained it as this......"Your Three Words" is your chance to speak your mind, a handful -- and a heartful -- at a time. Tell us how your week was. From the sublime to the ridiculous, nothing's too big or too small to send in. Write your three words on your palm, cut it out in letters, paste it (strategically -- and tastefully) over your body. Shoot it with your digital camera, webcam or cell phone. This was intriguing to me and I often think at the end of the night what my three words are for the day. And although it's not the end of the day....here are "my 3 words" so far today!

Love his laugh.
