Weekend.

Not this week...the last one. The one we just got caught up from, yet another one is already here?!

It was a great weekend. You can read about it HERE.

Thanks and have a great day!

Kidding.

I'll add a few more pics because I can't let you go about your weekend without seeing Parker and her sand eating time at the beach. :-)

What's that you said Mom? No? Well, all the more reason to chow down on some shells...
and smile back at you while doing so.

Besides for spending the day at the beach, we also spent a lot of time at their new house. It was so nice and my kids loved the space!

This time last year.

I had a huge belly. Man that thing was huge.

Isla was Parker's age.

Lane looked like a baby.

And we spent the weekend with our friends.

You can read about it HERE.

Can't wait to do it again...this weekend...minus the belly, plus one more little.

Lane's been asking where Isla is so I guess that means it's been too long. Summerville and the Matheys: Here WE come!!

Gatlinburg

Photobucket

Your typical mountain town. Really cool setting.
Photobucket

Lots of little shops and restaurants nestled in the mountains. It was also your typical cheesy tourist type destination. It sort of reminded me of a Myrtle Beach, but in the mountains. Lots of Ripley's museums, arcades and all the cliche things you might see in a popular touristy town.

We had lunch at a Pizzeria and brewery and walked in and out of the little streets letting the kids explore.
Photobucket

After spending the afternoon in Gatlinburg, we took advantage of the free Moon Shine tasting...I only could stomach a sip of the first shot. No wonder why it was FREE! Another fun day!

Dollywood

and SOOOO much more!

Greenville, SC sits 3 hours from the coast and 2 1/2 hours from the Smoky Mountains. We always take advantage of the beach and even vacation there several times a year. Over the weekend we took advantage of the mountains and joined our friends on a vacation to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, TN.

Photobucket

We called it cheap and cheesy because when we started planning it, we were both building/renovating houses so we just wanted a little getaway that wouldn't break the bank. We figured as long as we were together, it would be fun! It definitely exceeded our expectations and we have plans to make it a yearly event!

We had everything we needed!
Photobucket

and of course a cabin complete with large deck, hot tub that we cooled down during the day (for the kids) and turned up at night (for the adults)
Photobucket

and rocking chairs.

View-check!

low-country boil-check!

grill on the deck with extremely large flames-check!
Photobucket

sleeping in a jacuzzi tub-check!
Photobucket

hanging out with best buds-check!

it was all a part of a wonderful weekend spent with wonderful friends.

More on our adventures to come!
